Business Blunders!

Writer's picture: sageproofthoughtssageproofthoughts

Businesses love to talk directly to their customers…they want a personal, unique connection with you. So, they use second person pronouns - you, your, you’re – to draw the customer in.

This style of writing is used a lot in advertising.

Imagine being a client, trying to choose a company to work with. You’re searching the web and think you’ve found the perfect one.

BUT, there it is…that fatal spelling mistake…they’ve used YOUR instead of YOU’RE!

It doesn’t matter how scrumptious the donuts are, you’ll decide not to do business with Dolly!

After all, in 2017, the Oxford Open Learning Trust survey found that over half of the adults asked, said they would judge someone on their spelling!
